The Meat Puppets formed during the 1980's. There music styles are Underground, College Rock, American Punk, Cowpunk, Hardcore Punk, Alternative/Indie, and Rock/Pop. Meat is Curt & Kirkwood and Derrick Bostrom. The puppets released 10 albums. MP did not get popular until there 8th
album TOO HIGH TO DIE in 1994. This album had a hit single called BACKWATER. In 1993 right after the single of BACKWATER was
released they appeared on MTV Unplugged... Curt and Cris Kirkwood did 3 songs with NIRVANA during the
unplugged show. The Songs were Oh Me, Lake of Fire, and Plateau. This moment made the meat puppets popular in 1994. In
1995 they release there final album with the original line up "NO JOKE". In 1996 after the tour they broke up.
In 2000
The Meat Puppets got back together with a new line up. Curt Kirkwood,Kyle Ellison,Andrew Duplantis, and Shandon Sahm.
They release a new album titled GOLD LIES. After the promotion tour they broke up.
By the looks of it MP is gone for good.
Curt Kirkwood went on to do solo work...
In 2006
Meat Puppets reforms with Curt and Cris Kirkwood and replacement drummer Tim Alexander from Primus.
